This case study was discovered on Designcrowds.com. It was a packaging design for beard oils. The client attached examples of bottles and boxes. This product was to be sold at national retailers and needed to look like a brand that is sold at boutique.

The customers need to see on the shelf:
-The box should be larger than others and be soft to touch (feels luxurious)
-More of a "hipster look and feel".
-The text should stand out.
-Changing the existing logo.

The brief: A full label and box design with key callouts:
Features and benefits - found in the attached brief the client included.
Description of what it is: Beard Oil
Name of fragrance: Sandalwood
Size: 2 oz / 60 ml

First Label Design: I decided to use a dark blue for the label and a design that was simple for consumer to understand by using strong san serif text.
The Box Design is hand-drawn in illustrator, I decided to draw a continuous line design for the face and to draw a full mustache and beard. I kept the drawing white to compliment the text. I decided a long box design and short box design like a box for soap.

Front Box Design

Back Box Design

I changed the blue color to a more bright color to have it stand out more on the shelves.

The third design was based off on the color palette from the client's design of their product. I used the same hand-drawn design and decided to put more attention on the "Beard Oil" to have it stand out more to the target audience men and married women. I also added a peach color for the fragrance.

I also created a black on white version of the design

The label designs with gradients.
